What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a customizable exfoliation treatment that removes dead and damaged skin cells to enhance overall skin radiance. A member of Dr. Daraei’s team applies a specialized solution to the skin, penetrating the skin’s surface to stimulate collagen production and promote cellular renewal. Chemical peels are customizable, with light, medium, and deep peels offered to target specific skin concerns with varying levels of intensity. Based on an individual’s skin type and desired results, the treatment is tailored to ensure optimal safety and effectiveness.

Candidates for a Chemical Peel
A chemical peel is ideal for individuals seeking to improve uneven skin tone, fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, rough texture, and sun damage. This treatment suits most skin types and can be customized to address specific skin concerns. Ideal candidates are in good skin health, free from active infections or severe sensitivities, and willing to follow post-treatment skincare recommendations. During a consultation, a member of Dr. Daraei’s team will evaluate your skin and determine the best chemical peel for your needs.
Chemical Peel Procedure
The treatment begins with a skincare professional thoroughly cleansing the skin to remove makeup, oil, and debris. Once the skin is prepped, a member of Dr. Daraei’s team carefully applies the chemical solution to the treatment area. The solution is left on for a specified time, during which patients may experience a mild tingling or warming sensation. After the appropriate time has passed, the solution is neutralized and removed. The entire procedure takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the depth of the peel. While results can be seen after a single session, multiple treatments may be recommended for optimal skin rejuvenation.
Chemical Peel Recovery
Recovery time depends on the strength of the peel. Light peels involve minimal downtime, with mild redness and slight peeling for a few days. Medium peels may cause more noticeable flaking and redness, lasting up to a week. Deep peels require a more extended recovery period, with more intense peeling and sensitivity over one to two weeks. Following the procedure, a member of Dr. Daraei’s team will provide detailed aftercare instructions, including moisturization, sun protection, and gentle skincare to ensure proper healing and long-lasting results.
